Adult Ministries

We are convinced that our journey in faith must be regularly fueled and encouraged through regular study, reflection and fellowship. Those are the goals of the vibrant Adult Ministries at St. Matthew. On Sunday mornings we provide adult forums on issues of faith, scripture, ethics and the church in the world. On Wednesday nights, we gather to study the Scriptures aided by the Augsburg Adult Bible Study Series. Monthly, a group gathers to discuss books and literature relevant to our faith. Our older adults join in fellowship and discussion regularly in the Elderberries group.

There is a place and opportunity for all adults, so we hope you will look over the possibilities and see where you might fit in.

Adult Forums – Discussions lead by St. Matthew pastors or distinguished guests or congregants that attempt to reconcile our faith in the context of today’s tumultuous world. Our forums are held during Sunday School, between the 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services on Sundays.

Religion and Literature Discussions – During the program year, we gather once a month to discuss books and other literature relevant to our faith. Dessert is served!

Wednesday Bible Study – A long running Bible Study using the Augsburg Adult Bible Study Series and lead by St. Matthew pastors.

Elderberries – Our senior members of the congregation meet regularly for fellowship and discussion. Sometimes we meet at St. Matthew, sometimes we meet at fun places in the local community.

Men’s Coffee – Once a month the men of our congregation gather for coffee and conversation.
